Arizona is ranked first in the nation for identity theft complaints according to the Federal Trade Commission's Consumer Fraud and Identity Theft Complaint Data. Arizona is followed by Nevada, California, Texas and Colorado.

Not only did the state of Arizona make the ranking, Phoenix is also ranked first in identity theft among major metropolitan areas nationwide and fourth in the number of fraud-related consumer complaints.
