Detective Jim Owens has been with the Phoenix Police Department for Seventeen years.  Detective Owens began his police career at the Squaw Peak Precinct and worked various assignments such as patrol, field training officer, community action officer, neighborhood patrol (bicycle), and programs coordinator.  As Program Coordinator, Detective Owens was responsible for developing and maintaining numerous community related programs for both the adult and youth sectors.

 

For the past Five years Detective Owens has been assigned to the Property Crimes Bureau working in the Document Crimes Detail.  In Document Crimes Detective Owens has conducted numerous investigations related to Identity Theft, Fraudulent Schemes, Forgery, and Credit Card Fraud.  Detective Owens is currently assigned to the FBI Bank Fraud Task Force and is responsible for investigating all bank related crimes.

 

Detective Owens has also conducted numerous public presentations related to Identity Theft.

 

Detective Owens earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Organizational Sociology at Grand Canyon University in 2002.  Detective Owens is an Arizona Native and has been married for 16 years and has four daughters.
